Chef Lorenzo Cogo's crazy idea
WHO IS IT? IT'S LOCO!
"LOCO" stands for "LOrenzo COgo," but it also represents the madness behind a bold idea: to bring haute cuisine closer to everyone, making it accessible to an ever-widening audience.
The inspiration for LOCOMeal came to life on a hot afternoon in 2018, when Lorenzo asked himself, "How can I get as many people as possible to enjoy my cuisine without opening a chain of restaurants?"
The answer came immediately and without hesitation: to create a dish that was of absolute quality, replicable in large quantities, and capable of being sustained over time. Did that sound crazy?
Yes, a little bit LOCO.
Years of experimentation, testing, reflection, tasting and constant change followed.
The first version of LOCO began as a "Healthy Meal Express," packaged in a plastic bottle, to be consumed quickly anywhere by simply adding water and shaking it.
It was a quick alternative for those who did not want to give up a healthy meal, but were ultimately not entirely satisfied with the way it was consumed.
After a period of hiatus, Lorenzo went back to work and realized that LOCO needed to evolve into something more substantial: a soup, a real meal to be enjoyed comfortably seated, to rediscover the pleasure of the table.
Thus, in 2023, LOCOMeal Zuppa Gourmet was born in its current form, ready to bring the quality of gourmet cuisine within everyone's reach.
LOCOMeal is crazy because it relies on an ancient method, dehydration, to solve modern problems: reducing the use of the refrigerator, extending storage up to 15 months without losing anything in terms of flavor and nutrients, and reducing environmental impact.
A folly with a clear goal: to make good, healthy food available everywhere, transforming gastronomy into something democratic, sustainable, and surprising.
Why we created LOCOMeal and why we believe it is the food of the future.
In a perfect world, we would have plenty of time to choose, purchase and prepare complete meals from fresh ingredients, knowing exactly how to meet all our nutritional needs. However, in everyday life, this is not always possible, especially when we are running or away from home.
Often, this leads us to opt for quick but unhealthy "junk" foods: perhaps a snack like chips, a candy bar, or a quick meal like a sandwich. These foods focus heavily on flavor, but neglect nutritional value, which should be the priority of food.
So why not create something that is healthy, nutritious, practical and convenient together?



So when do I use LOCOMeal?
It is perfect for those times when you are short on time, on the go, in a hurry, or do not have access to a kitchen.
This situation is typical for breakfasts, lunches and dinners during the week, while on weekends we often prefer to enjoy, rightly and dutifully, more "classic" meals where we can give vent to our passion with friends and family.
